Kylian Mbappe is now the highest-paid football player, according to Forbes.
For the first time in nine years, a player other than Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo was ranked top in Forbes list of richest football players.
The Paris Saint-Germain forward will make $128 million (KSh 15.5 billion) during the 2022/2023 season.
The 23-year-old beats his team-mate Messi who came in second with $120m (KSh 14.5 billion) and Manchester United forward Ronaldo third with $100m (KSh 12 billion).
Neymar, Salah among top five richest players
Brazil international Neymar was fourth on the list with an estimated $87 million (KSh 10.5 billion), while Liverpool FC’s Mohamed Salah closed the top 5 richest players with $53 million (KSh 6.4 billion).
As BBC Sport reported, former England captain David Beckham was the final player to rank first outside of Ronaldo or Messi in 2013.
