BBC fires journalist over tweet about royal baby Archie

After Megan Markel and Prince Harry shared the first photo of
royal baby Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, BBC radio presenter Danny Baker
posted a tweet that led to the station firing him.

Baker tweeted an image of a couple and a chimpanzee dressed
in clothes. Above it was the caption “Royal Baby leaves hospital.” Given that the
Duchess of Sussex is mixed race, the tweet had racism written all over it.

The presenter shared the news of his termination on twitter
saying, “Just got fired.” On the other hand, a BBC spokesperson said, “This was
a serious error of judgment. Danny’s a brilliant broadcaster but will no longer
be presenting a weekly show with us.”

The company added that, “It goes against the values we as a
station aim to embody.”

Danny later deleted the message and apologized on Wednesday evening
though defending himself that the tweet was a joke targeted at the Duke and
Duchess of Sussex royal family.
