NAIROBI, Kenya – Ol Kalou MP David Njuguna Kiaraho has been pronounced dead while receiving specialised treatment at the Nairobi Hospital.

Kiaraho’s exact cause of death on Sunday, March 29, 2026, has not been made public at the time of filing this report.

Kiaraho had been unwell for some time and had been seeking medical care both within the country and abroad. The lawmaker’s death was confirmed by his Kinangop counterpart, Zac Kwenya Thuku, who eulogised him as a noble soul, a bosom friend, a value-adder, a worker, and a true servant of the people.

“Hon David Njuguna Kiaraho was an exemplary human being in many aspects; Serving a third term in the National Assembly as the MP for the Olkalou constituency, an accomplished Architect and a business Mogul. A gracious man full of wit and humble to the core,” said MP Thuku.

Taking on his official Facebook page, MP Thuku observed that it is painful, sad, devastating and unbelievable.

“But we accept God’s will. He has only gone ahead of us, and we can only advance the good that he stood for and the cause he championed. My friend, my Brother, my Party mate and a true Patriot, rest well, rest well, and rest with your Maker till we meet again in glory land,😭😭” the MP mourned his departed colleague.

David Njuguna Kiaraho’s journey to Parliament

news9.africa has established that Kiaraho’s condition had not been widely detailed, but reports indicate that his health had been a concern for a while before he travelled for further treatment.

He first entered Parliament in 2013 after being elected as the Ol Kalou constituency MP. He went on to retain his seat in the 2017 and 2022 General Elections, showing continued support from his constituents over the years.

During his time in office, he built a steady political career and remained active in parliamentary duties.

The 13th Parliament has been struck by a series of tragic losses.

Not less than 5 MPs have lost their lives in less than 4 years.

He was also a member of the Procedure and House Rules Committee, where he took part in shaping legislative processes and guiding parliamentary operations.

Another big blow to Kenya’s 13th Parliament

His death brings an end to a period of public service that spanned more than a decade.
