Missing teacher found, body decomposed in river Chirichiro Kisii County

A middle aged teacher who went missing has been found with his
decomposed body retrieved from River Chirichiro , Riangabi Sub location, Keumbu Division in Kisii County.

It’s alleged that the deceased Peter Miranyi Barongo suddenly
went missing last week on Thursday, after participating in a teacher’s election
that was held at Ibacho.

A source who spoke to the press anonymity said the teacher
has been taking alcohol and he suspects he was murdered and later dumped in a
river.

“He is a good teacher. As much as he takes alcohol he has
never wronged anybody. It’s a sad day for us,” said the witness.

According to the police report the day he went missing he
had voted at teachers’ election held at Ibacho.

The man who was identified as Peter Miranyi Barongo and has
been teaching at Emonga Primary School in Kiamokama stays at Friends market
Kiamokama.

Kisii County Commander Jebel Ngere confirmed the incident.

The County Commander said that they have launched investigation
to unveil the root cause of his death.

The body of the deceased was transferred to Kisii Teaching
and referral hospital awaiting autopsy.
