A middle aged man is in police custody for allegedly
defiling a juvenile 12-year-old.
It’s alleged that the suspect Enock Momanyi boda boda rider did the act to the minor on
7/8/2021 at Kebosi Village , Ibeno location , Nyaribari Constituency .
According to the police report it’s said that the accused
person defiled the minor contrary to sectional 8(1) as read with section 8(3)
of the sexual offence Act No.3 of 2006.
The minor said that the accused person ambushed and
threatened her when she was going to fetch examination fee from the home.
She further said that, he took her to the nearby bush and
did the act to her and threatened her if she would reveal the information to
the parents he will kill her.
Wycliffe Nyakundi eye witness said that they live in fear in
that vilage they are five suspects who have that tendency of moving around
threatening the minors.
“They have
instilled fear into our children, even going to school has become a challenge,”
he said.
He asked the security officers to beef up the security in
that area.
Mose Timothy (not his really name) said that her daughter told
him what the accused person did to her.
The parent of the minor rushed her to Ibeno Hospital to seek
medical attention.
He further stated that he reported the matter to Nyanturago
police station who launched the investigation on the matter and apprehended the
accused person.
“I want justice to prevail to my daughter,” he said.
According to the medical report the accused person did the
act to the minor.
Area Justine Momanyi confirmed the incident.
He urged parents to take care of their children to prevent
such incidents.
“Let parents be keen in monitoring movements of their
children to enhance their safety. Defilement is a serious offence,” he added.
