Police kills self while on duty in Kisii

A 32-year-old police officer has shot himself to death while
on duty in Kisii County.

The deceased, Rodgers Arusei, who was attached to Nyamarambe
police station shot himself on the chest at around 8 am while on duty.

Confirming the incident, Kisii County commander Jebel Ngere said
that the deceased took an AK47 gun and shot himself on the chest which went through
the right hand shoulder, dying on the spot.

A report from the police shows that Mr. Arusei was jovial
while reporting on duty at reporting desk.

Mr Ngere said that the police have launched an investigation
over the incident.

The body of the deceased has been transferred to Kisii
Teaching and Referral Hospital Morgue
