State department for social protection want Kenyans to be more vigilant to curb Coronavirus as Curfew takes effect

As Kenya reports first death of Coronavirus, citizens have
been urged to be more vigilant and observe the guidelines issued by the government.

Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe confirmed that the deceased
was a 66-year-old man, who had a long term medical complications.

challenged the public to take care of the old people since they are the most vulnerable
to COVID-19 pandemic.

“The immunity of the aged people is too low, the reason
as to why we ask people to minimize the risks of passing the virus to them,”
Mr Botongore said.

 Mr Botongore said that the aged need high attention
and standard hygiene.

He also said that it’s everyone responsibility to ensure
that they are well taken care of and are free from contracting the novel
Coronavirus.

“Let’s take precaution as required, we love them, but
we should consider their wellbeing first by thoroughly observing hygiene and
keeping social distance, “he added.

The national tally for Coronavirus cases stands at 31, as at
Thursday 26, 2020

Kenyans have been urged to observe set guidelines such as
washing their hands with soap or sanitizers, avoiding funerals, churches, mosques,
and other social joints each night clubs, bars, restaurants, markets to
minimize close interaction or social distance.

PSV vehicles have been ordered to carry half the required
number so as to minimize the spread of virus.

The government on Wednesday directed a national curfew starting
today (Friday) from 7PM -5AM.

Kenyans in most parts of the country have been struggling to
reach their homes at the stipulated time to avoid commotion with law enforcers.
