Digital taxi drivers will now enjoy quick access to ride apps, make calls and SMS within a single affordable bundle package from Safaricom.

The leading telecommunications firm announced a new mobile internet, calls and SMS package dubbed Bundle Ya Dere, confirming that it is only available to taxi drivers.

“The bundle is for Taxi Drivers for now,” Safaricom said in an exclusive response to News 9 Kenya.

How to access Safaricom’s Bundle Ya Dere

Safaricom said the new package also assures customers of insurance, more than just mobile data from a normal internet subscription.

Customers can subscribe to Bundle Ya Dere by dialling *544*6#, pay KSh 2,000 and receive 25GB, airtime of 300, insurance and daily access to their ride apps.

“Kujituma nayo ni lazima, but unaneed bundle inakupea value kwa hustle yako. Kes 2,000 gives you more than just data. You get 25GB, 300 Kredo, insurance and daily access to ride apps bila kutumia data. Hii ni ya maderee👉 Dial *544*6#,” said Safaricom.

What Kenyans said about the new Safaricom bundle package

Digital taxi drivers have been facing challenges in their daily operations, resulting from limited data bundles and a lack of airtime to contact their clients.

Victor, a digital taxi driver based in Nairobi, told News 9 Kenya that the new bundle package comes as a solution to his daily operations.

“With this package, I can now do my work without worry. I used to switch off my mobile data during rides, soon after picking a customer just to save them. But now, with the data on throught the trip, I can pick other rides on reaching the trip destination,” said Victor.

Other Kenyans questioned the need for the bundle:

Dennis Menon asked:

“Sasa hiyo ni kujituma aje?”

@Noordermee93756 wondered:

“This bundle seems packed with value beyond data, but how does it truly impact the daily hustler’s bottom line?”

Reginald Cullens raised concerns over B-Live bundles:

“B live data 1 HR after downloading 2-3 GB speed inakatika hadi 500kbs andikeni 3 GB for 20 bob badala ya kucap internet speed.”

Meanwhile, Safaricom launched B-Live mobile data bundle, allowing customers to pay based on the time spent on the internet as opposed to bundles used.
