
Absa Bank Kenya’s board has appointed Caroline Armstrong as an Independent Non-Executive Director.
The Board of Directors of Absa Bank Kenya PLC said Armstrong will serve as a non-executive director effective Tuesday, September 19, 2025.
Armstrong’s profile
In a public notice published on the Daily Nation of Tuesday, Sepetember 19, the board said Armstrong is a seasoned professional with over 28 years of experience in the financial services sector.
“Throughout her distinguished career, she has held senior leadership positions in several prominent institutions, including Citibank, Barclays Bank (now Absa), and Housing Finance Group (HF Group). Her extensive experience will be invaluable to the Board as we navigate an increasingly dynamic and complex financial landscape,” read the notice in part.
Before her appointment, she was leading various consultancy engagements in multiple sectors across Kenya and the East African region.
She served as the Board Chairperson of New Faces New Voices (under the Graça Machel Trust) and an Independent Non-executive Director on the Board of Jambojet Ltd.
Armstrong previously served as an Independent Non-executive Director on the Boards of Kenya Airways, National Housing Corporation and HF Foundation.
Academic background
Her academic and professional qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in International Business Administration from the United States International University, Africa.
She also holds a Change Management Certification (PROSCI) and an Executive Coaching Certification from the Academy of Executive Coaching.
