Fight against COVID-19 is a collective responsibility

Coronavirus is fast spreading in the country with latest
figures hitting 110 as at Thursday.

Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe projected that this
numbers could grow to thousands of figures by mid-April, with the current infections
said to be tested from those in quarantine and isolation.

Just as president Uhuru Kenyatta said that the fight against COVID-19
is a collective responsibility, Kenyans can play their part, complying to the
set measures, in ensuring that government efforts to contain the virus are met.

If citizens ignore and leave the responsibility to the government,
all efforts to combat COVID-19 will be suppressed. The situation may turn to be
worse as CS Mutahi warns, Kenya should prepare for stiffer measures

The situation as much as difficult as it is, they say an
ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Everybody is feeling the pinch of
coronavirus. Being ignorant of the directive measures will not help us.
Circulating wrong information about COVID-19 to get people into panic and trivializing
it won’t help fight the pandemic.

We should join hands together with the government and ministry
of health in fighting coronavirus –just as the government urges, united as
Kenyans, we will rise and defeat COVID-19.

CS Mutahi said Kenyans should concentrate on internalizing the
measures set to curb the viral flu, by marinating social distance, staying at
home –rather than spreading false information on social media.
