Members of the public wishing to change their passports and/or
collect their e-passports should do so by booking an appointment with the
specific centers where they have placed their application.
In a press statement released on Friday, the Directorate of Immigration
Services stipulates that e-passport application and collection ‘should be done
on appointment at all our processing centers’.
“To book appointment for submission and photo capture
(Biometric enrolment), apply for passports through eCitizen, upload all
documents, and make necessary payments online,” read the statement in part.
The applicant should therefore, after submitting the
application, book appointment specifying the submission center, convenient date
and time, then print the application form and two payment receipts attaching
all relevant documents.
Once your passport is ready, an SMS confirmation will be
send to you, allowing you to book appointment for collection via eCitizen.
Provide the old passport and initial receipt with tracking
information and original ID when collecting the passport, from the processing
center where you submitted your application.
However, cases such as urgent travel seeking treatment,
scholarship students requiring urgent travel, public servants on urgent travel
mission, and business officials with urgent travel abroad will be exempted from
the appointment procedure, based on documented evidence.
All passport enquiries will be processed at the customer desk,
Immigration office Nyayo House.
