NAIROBI, Kenya – More than 5,000 attendees and 200 exhibitors from over 30 countries across the world will converge at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in September 2026 for the World Health Expo (WHX) 10th edition.
The expo, taking place from September 16 to 18, will bring together manufacturers, distributors, hospital buyers, logistics providers and policymakers to discuss practical solutions and unlock new growth opportunities in the region’s healthcare commerce.
“WHX in Nairobi is where East Africa’s healthcare ecosystem comes together to do business. As regional trade corridors strengthen and healthcare supply chains become more connected, Nairobi is increasingly the place where manufacturers, distributors, hospital groups and policymakers can build the partnerships that move products, improve access and shape the next phase of healthcare delivery across the region,” said Tom Coleman, Portfolio Director – Healthcare, inD.
The WHX exhibition will feature eight product sectors, including medical devices and equipment, disposables and consumer goods, orthopaedics and physiotherapy, imaging and diagnostics, healthcare general services, IT and digital health solutions, healthcare infrastructure, and laboratory technology and diagnostics.
WHX opens market for health security
These sectors are poised to boost ongoing interventions to strengthen Kenya’s health security systems in the wake of infectious disease outbreak threats.
Principal Secretary (PS), State Department for Public Health and Professional Standards, Mary Muthoni, said Kenya is committed to safeguarding the health and wellbeing of all its residents through strengthened preparedness and coordinated action, in collaboration with technical experts, development partners and other stakeholders.
“We have had a multi-sectoral taskforce meeting uniting national and county governments, development partners, security agencies and technical experts to strengthen surveillance, laboratory capacity, infection prevention and control. This is part of our efforts in ensuring that our country is well prepared to respond effectively to any potential threats, like an Ebola outbreak,” said Muthoni.
The exhibition is expected to strengthen Kenya’s position as East Africa’s healthcare distribution hub as trade corridors and cross-border supply chains open.
Businesses and healthcare stakeholders are expected to generate more than USD 84.19 million, which was generated in the 9th edition of WHX in 2025.
Formerly known as Medic East Africa, the expo will be held under the patronage of the Ministry of Health, Kenya, and is part of the global WHX portfolio, which includes three key healthcare events in Africa, held in Nairobi, Lagos and Johannesburg
