Former Gatundu Mp Patrick Muiruri has urged all Kenyans to follow
all precautionary measures as directed by the ministry of health and take time
for prayer and supplication as the country and the entire world faces the
covid-19 pandemic.

“This is a very heartbreaking situation to see what
this pandemic has done to Kenya and the world. I urge Kenyans to take heart, have
faith and hope that all things will be well in the coming months.”

He added that it is the best time for Kenyans to focus on
God and to rebuild relationships with God and their families.

He said, “It is a time for self-reflection for all of us. It
is time for us to rebuild and heal the relationships we have in our
lives.”

The former agriculture minister also urged people to follow
government directives by maintaining good hygiene, avoiding unnecessary movements
and report to KNH or Mbagathi if one is feeling unwell.

On Sunday, the Ministry of health reported a total of 15 covid-19
cased and 363 contacts who had come in contact with those affected.

The number went high on Monday even as the ministry
discovered the 16th case, saying that it is the first local case to
have been reported.

The country is likely to report more cases owing to the fact
that two people –a catholic father who had traveled back to the country from
Italy and Kilifi County Governor Gideon Saburi who have been quarantined for contracting the
disease –are said to have moved around different places in the country
inter-mingling with local citizens.

About 17 police officers who are said to have come into
contact with the Deputy Governor have been quarantined even s Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi
Quarantines takes precautionary measures to self-quarantine.

In Siaya, those who had close conduct with the father, have
been urged to take precautionary measures and self-quarantine.
