Raymond Moi,
late president Moi’s eldest son, has accepted the Kalenjin elders’ call of
installing his younger brother Gideon Moi, as the political leader of the
family.
Speaking
during the burial of their father in Kabarak on Wednesday, Raymond said he has
heed to the call by elders and crowned his brother as the eldest politically.
The Kalenjin
elders took president Moi’s Rungu and
gave it out to Raymond, as a sign of respect at the time the casket carrying
Moi’s body was about to be moved to the gravesite.

The MP then
gave out the Rungu to Gideon as a sign of his blessing to carry
forward and strengthen KANU.
As he gave
his speech of fare-the-well, the Baringo Senator thanks Kenyans and leaders on
behalf of the Moi family for their support.
“We are
deeply touched by the outpouring of love and respect you have shown Mzee Moi.”
