MOMBASA, Kenya – Businessman and Nyali parliamentary aspirant Said Abdalla alias Saido has backed the government’s plan to resettle thousands of squatters in Mombasa following the issuance of title deeds at the Coast.

Speaking at Mama Ngina Waterfront on Thursday, October 2, during the issuance of over 5,000 title deeds to Mombasa residents, Saido urged his constituents to remain calm, saying the government is committed to settling them.
“We thank the President for issuing titles to some residents. In Nyali, we have taken our proposals, and we hope soon they will be resettled because we also have problems in Nyali,” Saido said.
Saido lauded President William Ruto’s development tour of the Coast, saying the region is reaping benefits owing to the broad-based government arrangement.
“The President has wiped the tears of our elderly by giving them land titles they have waited for all their lives. We have no reason to abandon him,” he said.
On the President’s directive to absentee landlords, Abdalla said the order must be honoured, and those holding huge chunks of land should stop frustrating squatters.
“We will deal with those who don’t want to heed the President’s directive. We want all our people to stay without being evicted and we thank the President for making our people landowners,” Saido added.
He said Mombasa and the Coast region are firmly behind President Ruto’s re-election bid in 2027, arguing that he has demonstrated love for the region through development projects.
President Ruto is on a week-long development tour of the Coast, where he has launched projects and issued title deeds to end decades of landlessness.
The head of state issued title deeds to beneficiaries from the Dongo Kundu, Waitiki, Mwakirunge, Mikindani and Mafisini settlement schemes.
