Winners of Ballon d’Or 2025 will be announced on Monday, September 22, at a ceremony at Théâtre du Chatelet in Paris.

The 2025 edition is classified as the most closely contested in years.
Who are the likely winners of Ballon d’Or 2025
About 30 nominees were announced in August as contenders for the award.
According to BBC Sports, six players are likely to win the highly contested trophy. They include:
- Ousmane Dembele – PSG
Dembele is a key man in Paris Saint-Germain’s Ligue 1 victory for the 2024/25 season.
He scored 21 goals from 29 games in Ligue 1, ending the season as a top scorer.
The 28-year-old emerged as the Champions League’s player of the season after scoring eight goals and six assists in the tournament.
- Harry Kane – Bayern Munich
Harry Kane scored 26 goals to top the Bundesliga scoring charts in the previous season.
Kane scored 10 goals in 11 days in September 2025 alone.
- Kylian Mbappe – Real Madrid
Kylian Mbappe emerged as the top scorer in La Liga, scoring 31 goals in the Spanish competition.
The Frence forward, 26, became only the third player to score 50 goals for his national team.
- Raphinha – Barcelona
Raphinha saw Barcelona win La Liga, the Copa del Rey and the Supercopa de Espana in the 2024/25 season.
The 28-year-old scored 18 goals and nine assists, emerging as La Liga’s player of the season.
- Mohamed Salah – Liverpool
Mohamed Salah won the Golden Boot – the fourth time- after scoring 29 goals and 18 assists.
Salah, 33, emerged as the Premier League’s player of the year for two consecutive seasons.
- Lamine Yamal – Barcelona
Lamine Yamal won La Liga’s player of the month award in September 2025.
He also scored twice for Spain in their 5-4 win over France in the Nations League semi-final.

- Scott McTominay – Manchester United midfielder
- Declan Rice and Viktor Gyokeres – from Arsenal
- Virgil van Dijk, Alexis Mac Allister and Florian Wirtz – from Liverpool
