Kariobangi Sharks striker Erick Kapaito has said that his target for the remaining SportPesa Premier League matches is to score more goals than he did last season.
Speaking on Wednesday after scoring against visitors Nzoia Sugar, Kapaito said he is regaining his ‘form’ and he hopes to score more.
“I have started well, I thank God now that goals have started streaming in. I target to score more than last season -17 goals and more.” said Kapaito.
Kapaito’s 19th minute strike at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani gave him a total of 2 goals in the season.
A pass from Sydney Lokale found Kapaito who fired a low shot that left Nzoia goalkeeper Humphrey Katasi with no chance, but to send the William Muluya-coached side to 29 points after 17 rounds.
Sharks will play Tusker in their next encounter on March 23.
Nzoia have lost two in a row, making them stagnate to 20 points from 17 games.
Their efforts were shuttered at the 10 minute when Stephen Etyang attempted a long range shot that went wide before Dennis Wanjala sent wide his free kick after Nixon Omondi had fouled Patrick Otieno outside the box.
Nzoia subbed Robert Arrot for Dennis Wanjala on 72 minutes, before pulling out Hansel Ochieng for Abraham Kipkosgey on 80 minutes, but in vein of goals.
