Shabana FC has appointed Ex Gor Mahia Assistant Coach Sammy Omollo alias Pamzo as the club’s new head coach following the departure of Sammy Okoth who was sacked.
Pamzo helped Tusker FC in 2011 to victory when the club was called the Premier League champions. He will have a hard task to streamline Shabana, which has displayed a seriously off form in the league.
Shabana FC was consigned in two wins in ten matches by Muhoroni Youths which tarnished their dignity by beating them 1-0 on January 6 this year at Raila Odinga Stadium.
The match saw one fan injured following violence that erupted caused by enraged fans after the club received their ninth loss of the season, taking the 17th position in the country’s premier league with only 14 points even after playing 17 matches.
The Club in a statement noted that the decision was reached based on the former Tusker FC, Posta Rangers, and Kenya Police head coach’s non negotiable experience and proven track record.
” Sammy Omollo brings a wealth of experience, expertise, and a proven track record in the realm of football coaching. His passion for the sport and his dedication to nurturing talent align with Shabana FC’s vision and values. We are confident that under his guidance our team will flourish and continue to uphold the rich legacy of Shabana FC.”
It also stated that,
” Mr .Omollo’s illustrious career and his strategic approach to the game are well documented . His leadership skills and ability to inspire players to reach their full potential make him the ideal candidate to lead Shabana FC into the new chapter of our journey.”
Shabana has been in a soul-searching this season registering only three wins since its magnificent return to the highest rank league.
” We extend our warmest welcome to Mr. Omollo and express our excitement at the prospect of working together to achieve our collective goals .His appointment marks a pivotal moment in our club’s history , and we invite all our supporters , players , and staff to unite and extend their full support to Mr. Omollo as he takes the reins of Shabana FC.”
The club is confident that the new coach will steer it in the right direction.
” With Mr. Omollo at the helm, we are poised to scale new heights of success and uphold the spirit of excellence that defines Shabana FC. Let us rally behind our new coach and continue to showcase the unwavering passion and dedication that sets our club apart.”
Omollo’s very onset game as Shabana FC head coach fixture will be this coming Sunday, January 14, playing against Nzoia Sugar at Sudi Stadium.
