Customers have been unable to make transactions using MPESA, an inconvenience that begun around the mid-morning hours of the day.

Safaricom’s MPESA services are down with customers  accustomed to using the technology reporting they are not able to make any transactions, including buying airtime or using paybill.

One customer tried buying airtime but received a message saying,

“M-PESA is currently unable to process your request. Please try again later.”

MPESA is a popular innovation in the country with it being used in various industries in the country, including bank transactions, paying bills, and paying for goods and services.

More to follow.
