Oscar award winner Tom Hanks and his
wife Rita Wilson, have reportedly been released from an Australian hospital,
five days after they were diagnosed with the new coronavirus.
According to AP news, the 63-year-old
celebrities had been discharged from the Gold Coast University Hospital to
self-isolate in a rented house.
The couple tested positive for the
novel coronavirus on Thursday, after staying in Australia for weeks following
their business trip.
Hanks plays Presley’s manager,
Colonel Tom Parker, in the Elvis Presley biopic directed by Baz Luhrmann film
at the Gold Coast, slated for release in October 2021.
On her part, Wilson, a
singer-songwriter, performed in Brisbane and Sydney shows, and Australian
television journalist Richard Wilkins has revealed that he tested positive to
the virus on Sunday, after coming in contact with her.
Meanwhile, celebrated Hollywood actor
Idris Elber has confirmed that he tested positive for COVID-19.
In a video going round on social
media, Mr. Elber says that he realized he had contracted the virus when he
learned that he had come into contact with person that had tested positive.
The actor added that he has no symptoms so far and has been
isolated since Friday when he found out about his possible exposure.
