Hollywood’s renowned actor Kirk Douglas dies at 103

Hollywood actor Kirk Douglas has died at the age of 103
years.

“It is with tremendous sadness that my brothers and I
announce that Kirk Douglas Left us today at the age of 103,” his oldest son,
actor-producer Michael Douglas said in a Facebook post.

Born in New York in 1916, Kirk Douglas, a stage and screen
actor was well known for the roles he played, among them a 1960 classic
Spartacus.

He starred in multiple films in his six-decade career, and the
birth of his first son Michael Douglas was the reason he went to Hollywood.

Oscars award

He never wanted to be a movie actor, Kirk told Esquire in
2001. He needed money to fend for his family then and that is how a star was
made.

Douglas was nominated for an Oscar three times, for
Champion, Lust for Life and the Bad and the Beautiful movies. Eventually, he
won the honorary award fin recognition for his 50 years in Film industry.

As fans and fellow actors continue to pay their tributes,
his son Michael ended his by saying, “Dad- I love you so much and I am proud to
be your son.”
