Transformational speaker and pastor Robert Burale has filed a lawsuit against Radio 47 presenter Alex Mwakideu and his sister Rozina Mwakideu, following remarks made during a podcast that went viral earlier this month.
Court documents seen by News Nine indicate that Burale filed an urgent application at the Milimani Chief Magistrate’s Court on October 8, 2025, seeking an injunction to compel Mwakideu to delete the interview featuring Rozina from his YouTube channel and to prevent any further sharing or distribution of the content.
In the application, Burale accuses the two of defamation, arguing that the podcast contained false and damaging statements about his character. He is seeking Ksh20 million in general and aggravated damages, as well as a public apology and the withdrawal of the statements made in the interview.
“The defendant/respondent, whether by himself or his agents, should forthwith pull down and delete each post containing any part of the contents in the video and its related material,” reads part of the petition.
Rozina, who was married to Burale for just over a year, described their union during the interview as “the darkest moment” of her life and called it her “biggest mistake.” She alleged that the marriage was marked by deception, emotional neglect, and financial difficulties, even revealing that she once contemplated taking her own life.
The interview, which was uploaded on October 4, 2025, quickly gained traction online, sparking public debate and widespread commentary on social media.
Following the uproar, Burale initially responded on social media with humor before issuing a brief statement focusing on his spiritual growth.
“God’s purpose for me still stands, no matter what people say. My focus is on becoming a better man today than I was yesterday,” he said.
Alex Mwakideu, speaking on his Radio 47 breakfast show on October 7, denied any intent to defame Burale, saying he did not know the extent of what his sister planned to disclose.
“Sikuwa najua kila kitu Rozina aliniambia,” he said, adding that Burale himself had encouraged him to host Rozina after appearing on the same podcast days earlier.
Burale’s petition also seeks an order restraining both defendants, their agents and the general public from reposting, sharing, or commenting on the disputed video or any related content.
The case is expected to be mentioned at the Milimani Chief Magistrate’s Court later this month.
