Tanzania on
Wednesday confirmed 30 new cases of Covid19 disease, raising the total number
of recorded cases to 284.

Prime
Minister Kassim Majaliwa during a press conference announced that 256 of the patients
are responding well to treatment and only 7 are in a critical condition.

The death
toll has so far risen to 10 cases, with 11 people fully recovering from the
pandemic.

The premier
added that the country still anticipates for more cases.

On Wednesday
last week, Majaliwa urged Tanzanians to heed to the president’s directive to be on high
alert and where possible remain indoors as directed by the head of state.

This follows
an order from the president to shut down all schools and tertiary institutions
to curb the spread of this deadly ailment.

The decision
was reached after a consultative meeting with stakeholders who further agreed
to cancel this year’s Labour Day and Union Day celebrations a move aimed in
combating further spread of Corona Virus disease.

The country
has witnessed an acute rise in the number of confirmed cases reporting 84 cases
on Tuesday alone.
