Donald Trump: The impeachment hearing process is a “witch hunt” to my administration

US President Donald Trump has dismissed the impeachment
haring process, terming it as a “witch hunt” to his administration.

According to BBC News, White House confirmed that the President
and his lawyers will not attend an impeachment hearing process to be conducted on
Wednesday.

This is after the Trump administration cited issues like
lack of “fairness” in the whole process.

House of Representatives Judiciary Committee will be hearing
testimonies from legal experts which could lead to a vote of impeachment.

BBC report that Mr. Trump pressured Ukraine to conduct two
investigations for his own political gain, something that the president has
denied.

The impeachment hearing process is set to focus on possible
charges of misconduct, which could lead to an impeachment vote in the House and
trial in the Republican-led Senate.

The chairman of the House Judiciary Committee Jerrold Nadler
on Wednesday invited President Trump to attend this week’s hearing,
“directly or through a counsel”.

Nadler said if he (Trump) attends the hearing, it would be
an opportunity to discuss the historical and constitutional basis for impeachment.

However, White House dismissed the invitation saying it failed
to give the president adequate time to prepare and did not give information
about the witnesses.
