As Kenya reports the lowest number of Coronavirus cases with four
out of 372 samples testing positive, Cabinet Secretary for Health Mutahi Kagwe
has urged people in mandatory quarantine to be responsible.

Kagwe said that some people in government quarantine
facilities were reported to be partying instead of observing social distancing guidelines.
He added that some of the people in these centers will spend more time there to
curb the spread of the virus.

Director General Patrick Amoth emphasized that if people in
quarantine do not behave as required, then they will spend more time at the
facilities.

Out of the four near positive cases, three are Kenyans while
one is a Pakistan national. Of the 372 samples collected in the 24 hours, the youngest
to test positive for Covid-19 is two years old while the oldest is 71 years of
age.

DG Amoth has urged parents to ensure their children wash
their hands and limit their playtime with other children to prevent the spread
of the virus.

Kenya now has 126 confirmed cases of Covid-19 with four people
having succumbed to the virus.

CS Kagwe has called upon the youth and university students to
volunteer and help multi agencies in fighting the Covid-19 pandemic in the
country. He has also urged everyone visiting open-air markets, supermarkets and
other public places to wear masks.

The government has so far tested 1,866 people in mandatory quarantine.
184 more individuals are yet to be tested.

Regarding reports of people gathering in large groups, the CS
has condemned the behaviour while emphasizing that mass gatherings are still
prohibited.
