Nairobi, Kenya – The Technical and Vocational Education and Training Curriculum Development, Assessment and Certification Council (TVET CDACC) has appointed Prof. Kisilu Kitainge steering it towards achieving the government’s dream towards a TVET institution in the country.

Prof. Kitainge takes over from Mr. Joseph Njau who has led the institution for five months in an acting capacity.

What is the government’s expectation of TVET?

Principal Secretary of the State Department for TVET Dr. Esther Muoria who oversaw the handing-over ceremony said the Kenya Kwanza Government is angling towards industrialization and is banking on the TVET sector to spur industrialization in Kenya.

“TVET CDACC plays a very key role not only in the TVET sector but also in ensuring that the government realizes its industrialization agenda in Kenya,” she said.

Dr Muoria added that the body should continue working closely with industry experts to strike the perfect balance between theoretical knowledge and practical skills.

“This holistic approach to education will ensure that graduates are well-prepared to meet the demands of the job market, making them highly sought after by employers,” she said.

TVET-CDACC is a body corporate established under the TVET Act, No. 29 of 2013. The Council is mandated to undertake the design and development of Curricula for the training institutions’ examination, assessment and competence certification and advise the Government on matters related thereto.
