Following imminent reports that Kenya spent Sh6.9 million in
a three-minute Jamhuri day advertisement on Burj Khalifa building in Dubai, the
country’s branding agency has come out clear the clouds, saying it was false claims.

The agency, Kenya Export Promotion and Branding (Brand.KE),
send a release to news room on Friday reiterating that the “claims are false
and unsubstantiated.”

Chief Executive Officer Brand.KE Peter K Biwott said that
following the country’s cordial relationship with the UAE, the country (Dubai)
saw it deeming to recognize and honour Kenyan flag on the world’s tallest
building during Jamhuri Day celebrations.

“We have become a rising star in the last five years as a
country, in advancing progress of humanity through contribution to global development,
fostering peace, and regionalism within the African Continental Free Trade area
ratification,” said Biwott.

He added that Kenya has become a world leader in
contributing to historical achievements in sports, with 23 World records, which
have necessitated recognition of the nation, most countries are yearning to
associate with.

Kenya celebrated its 55 independence day on Thursday, 12 December
2019, with President Uhuru Kenyatta calling on leaders and all Kenyans to shun
the vice of corruption.

He also warned government officials against shielding
corrupt leaders as legal representatives, adding that they should rather
undertake their oversight role or leave and serve the public privately as lawyers.

This is after a corruption case facing Nairobi governor Mike
Sonko sparked controversy over his legal team that was led by two senators.
