KIAMBU, Kenya – Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua has thrown his weight behind prominent Kiambu politician Mathew Mukuha Mwangi for the forthcoming Gatundu North parliamentary race.
According to analysts and political observers, the former deputy president sees Mwangi, better known as Inject Mukuha among Gatundu residents, as a potential candidate for the MP position.

A peculiar move in politics happened when Gachagua crowned Inject Mukuha a DCP cap in Kamwangi Market with 5,000 witnesses, an occurrence that has sparked talks and political heat in Gatundu North.
news9.africa has established that Inject Mukuha becomes the only candidate in Gatundu North to receive such recognition in his constituency and ground.
During the event, the DCP leader allowed Inject Mukuha to climb aboard the bonnet of his high-end SUV to receive the recognition.
“There is no doubt that Inject Mukuha is slowly becoming the darling of everyone, including both the locals and non-locals. His star is shining!” said Samuel Otieno, who was among those who attended the event.
‘The Injector’ tag gains momentum
news9.africa has further established that ‘The Injector’ is not a common name in the Kikuyu community, but recently, it’s been mentioned daily in politics.
Gachagua, who is known as ‘The Chief Injector’, has, over time, seen a rise of several other ‘injectors’, among them Nairobi senator Edwin Sifuna, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, DCP deputy Cleophas Malala, Nyandarua senator John Methu, and, most recently, Inject Mukuha.
“I am Inject Mukuha, a peculiar name in Gatundu North. A region associated with poor roads, no water, poor academic standards, insecurity and, of course, the most insolent MP, who is believed to have verbal diarrhoea and a phobia of development. He indeed needs to taste the sweet injection!” ‘Inject Mukuha’, told news9.africa.
news9.africa knows that Inject Mukuha rose to fame and huge political mileage during the recent visit of Gachagua to the vote-rich region.
Notably, the new entrant to DCP came with a wave and strong community support, which has been attributed to his long-lasting solutions to community problems, his presence among the people, and his status as an educated aspirant.
‘Inject Mukuha’ academic background
He is a structural engineer who graduated with first-class honours and has more than 9 years of experience.
Additionally, Inject Mukuha has made huge contributions, including compassionate activities, the major ones being taking Baby Baraka to India for congenital heart surgery and the construction of a modern toilet for people with disabilities (PLWDs) at Mang’u Primary School, and has also been at the forefront in promoting sports in the area.
The decorated politician has also employed 73 youths and has sponsored 44 students, including university students.

The Gatundu North Inject Mukuha has, in recent times, enjoyed a very successful relationship with Gachagua, better known as Riggy G, which political analysts say has been missing.
“It has been noted that on all occasions, the two enjoy cordial relationships, great smiles and mutual co-existence. Riggy G is seen to always hold firmly and look into eyes and always murmurs blessings on Inject Mukuha,” observed Martin Gachoka, a Kiambu-based political analyst.
In a recent activity, Inject Mukuha declined to join President William Ruto during his visit to Jesus Compassion Ministries (JCM) in Thika, a branch of the church founded by Bishop Ben Kiengei, on what many see as a clear indication of a ‘true son of the soil’.
“This has earned him massive admiration, honour, and respect from Gen Z. It’s very clear that Riggy G and Inject Mukuha will be a perfect match in politics!” said Susan Wanjiru, a resident of Gatundu North.
Amid these developments, there are some emerging questions
- Why did Riggy G already identify Inject Mukuha as a Gitungati?
- Why does Riggy G always smile and lock eyes while greeting Inject Mukuha?
- Is Inject Mukuha the future of Gatundu North? Probably a CS after serving 10 years in parliament?
- Where has Inject Mukuha been for this long while the Gatundu North people suffered?
Is it the beginning of the rise of the Gatundu North people? - Is it true that Inject Mukuha is only 33 years young, youthful for a parliamentary seat?
“Dear Gatundu North residents, it’s your time to shine and smile! You have a great son, Inject Mukuha. We already admire the 14th Parliament, once he joins hands with the likes of Ndindi Nyoro. We shall see a different face of politics in Kenya!” added Gachoka.
Even as residents of Gatundu North ponder the right answers, all our eyes are set on Inject Mukuha to see if he shall oust the incumbent MP, Elijah Njoroge Kururia, by a huge margin.
