A 24-year-old female student at Kitui’s South Eastern
University killed herself on Friday. Her body was found hanging on a rope in
her rented house at Kwa Vonza Market in Kitui Rural area.
According to an eDaily reporter, she left behind a suicide
note saying, “Dear mum and dad, I am sorry I had to do this. I love you guys so
much but I cannot take it any longer (sic). Life has become unbearable. I cannot live like this anymore.”
Lower Yatta OCPD Charles Chacha confirmed the incident
stating that the information technology student left behind a note.
However, there are unconfirmed rumors that claim the student
committed suicide after her lecturer told her she would not graduate during a
project presentation.
