NAIROBI, Kenya – National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula has officially informed Parliament about the passing of Ol Kalou MP David Njuguna Kiaraho.
Kiaraho’s exact cause of death on Sunday, March 29, 2026, has not been made public at the time of filing this report.

“Honourable Members, It is with profound sorrow that I hereby notify Members of the National Assembly and the entire Parliamentary fraternity of the untimely demise of the Member for Ol Kalou, the Late Hon. David Njuguna Kiaraho, CBS,” said Speaker Wetang’ula.
In a statement, the Speaker confirmed that the MP passed away today, Sunday, 29th March 2026, at around twenty minutes past 1 am while undergoing treatment at the Nairobi Hospital.
The late Hon. Kiaraho was serving his third term as the Member for Ol Kalou Constituency, having been first elected to the National Assembly during the 2013 General Election.
“Until his untimely demise, the late Hon. Kiaraho served the National Assembly with diligence and commitment as a Member of the Departmental Committee on Transport and Infrastructure and the Procedure and House Rules Committee,” added Speaker Wetang’ula.
David Njuguna Kiaraho’s early life
Kiaraho, CBS, MP was born on 2nd October 1963 and attended Alliance High School before later joining the University of Nairobi, where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture.
Before joining politics, the Hon. Kiaraho built a professional career as an architect and served as Principal Architect at Archgrid Systems, establishing a strong background in infrastructure and built environment projects.
“On behalf of all Members and staff of the National Assembly, and indeed on my own behalf, I convey my heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the late Hon. Kiaraho,” the statement further reads.
MP Kiaraho’s funeral committee
In this regard, Speaker Wetang’ula has appointed Members to the Funeral Preparation Committee to liaise with the family and coordinate a befitting send-off for the fallen MP.
The team will be led by the Member for Kinangop, Kwenya Thuku, assisted by the Member for Nyandarua, Faith Gitau, and seven (7) other MPs.
“Further details on this matter will be communicated in due course. May his soul rest in eternal peace,” the Speaker further mourned the MP.
