The 2020 form one admissions are in progress even as the
government and non-governmental organizations pledged to offer scholarships to
needy students.

But the story of two needy twins from Turkana south sub
county, who passed their 2019 Kenya Certificate for Primary Education exams, is
heart felt as the duo fails to report for admission due to lack of school fees.

Meet Cynthia Wamboi Njoroge and her twin sister Symprose
Waithera Njoroge. They both sat for their KCPE exams in November 2019, scoring
319 and 349 marks respectively.

According to Yvonne M, a fourth year journalist student at
Maseno University, Cynthia and Symprose stays with their aunt Madam Leah, who
adopted them way back in 2018 following their parents’ separation.

Yvonne says that she came to learn of their story through
Leah, and by the time News 9 Kenya reached out on her, she had shared on her
social media sites.

Cynthia was placed at St. Marks Girls High School Cherengani
while Symprose was to join Bunyore Girls in Masano on January 17, 2020.

“They are needy students from a poor background and
their parents had to separate after their father, an alcoholic and drug addict,
forced their mother to leave due to spouse violence,” said Yvonne.

By the time of going to the press, Yvonne and the aunt Leah
had visited the schools to try and negotiate with the administration to allow
them more time to secure funds for admission.

“We need to admit them to form one hopefully by next
week,” said Yvonne.

The family is appealing to any well-wishers to come up and
help Cynthia and Symprose in realizing their dream by helping fund their
education.

“I’ll be visiting Bunyore Girls with her today, being the
deadline for Symprose Waithera to report to school , to plead for more time.
Any help lend towards the support of the two twins’ admission will be highly
appreciated,” twitted Yvonne

She goes on to twit, “Attached are copies of their admission
letters ( front pages). For more information, reach out to
me 0712270698.”
