Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda are ready to host the 2024 TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN).
The tournament is scheduled to take place between August 2 and August 30, 2025, across the three East African countries.
According to the Confederation of African Football (CAF), this will be the eighth edition of the biennial competition organised and the first time to be jointly.
The championships also play a significant role in the preparation for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
Which teams will play at CHAN 2024?
The tournament will only feature players in the national leagues across the participating countries in the continent and not those playing in international leagues.
There will be a total of 19 teams competing in the CHA tournament. These are:
- Senegal, who are the defending champions
- Morocco, two-time winners
- Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), record winners with two titles
- Nigeria,
- Algeria,
- Zambia,
- Kenya, who are participating for the first time
- Central African Republic, also debutants

The stadium is found in Nairobi, Kenya.
Kasarani Stadium can host up to 60,000 spectators.

- Nyayo National Stadium
Nyayo Stadium is found in Nairobi, Kenya.
It has a seating capacity of 45,000 seats.

- Mandela National Stadium
Mandela National Stadium is found in Kampala, Uganda.
It has a seating capacity of 45,000.

- Amaan Stadium
Amaan Stadium is found in Zanzibar, Tanzania.
It can host up to 15,000 spectators.

The final draw of the CHAN tournament was done in January 2025, in Nairobi, Kenya.
The tournament takes place on August 2–30, 2025, across Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
