Flynas, the Middle East’s leading low-cost airline, will launch direct flights between Riyadh and Nairobi from October 2, 2025.
This move will mark its entry into the Kenyan market with three weekly flights.
The announcement positions Nairobi as a new hub in the airline’s growing African network, which already includes Addis Ababa, Entebbe and Djibouti. The move is expected to strengthen travel, trade and tourism ties between Kenya and Saudi Arabia while supporting Riyadh’s Vision 2030 aviation and tourism goals.
The service will allow Kenyan passengers direct access to Saudi Arabia for business, leisure and religious travel, particularly Hajj and Umrah. It will also open opportunities for Saudi tourists and investors in Kenya’s hospitality, wildlife and business sectors.
“By connecting Riyadh and Nairobi, we aim to make travel more convenient and affordable, support Kenya’s tourism sector, create new opportunities for businesses on both sides and reinforce flynas’ international network in Africa,” said Waleed Alahmed, Director of Corporate Communications at flynas.
The route is part of Saudi Arabia’s National Civil Aviation Strategy, which aims to link the Kingdom with 250 destinations, accommodate 330 million passengers and host 150 million tourists annually by 2030. It also supports the Pilgrims Experience Program, designed to ease access to the Two Holy Mosques.
flynas, which operates a fleet of 64 aircraft, runs more than 2,000 weekly flights across 139 routes in 30 countries.
Since its launch in 2007, the airline has carried over 80 million passengers. It has been ranked among the world’s top 10 low-cost airlines and was named the Best Low-Cost Airline in the Middle East for the eighth consecutive year by Skytrax in 2025.
Tickets for the Riyadh–Nairobi route are now available on the airline’s website, mobile app, call centre and through accredited travel agents.
