Accra, Ghana – The Kenya National Police DT Sacco National Chairman, David Sohelo Mategwa, has secured a new position within the African Sacco movement.

Mategwa has been elected as the new Vice Chairman of the African Confederation of Cooperative Savings and Credit Associations (ACCOSCA).
The announcement followed the conclusion of the prestigious SACCA Congress, held in Accra, Ghana. ACCOSCA is the continental governing body for financial cooperatives across Africa, making Mategwa’s appointment a significant development for the Kenyan cooperative sector.
In a statement seen by News Nine, the Kenya National Police DT Sacco expressed pride in its leader.
“We are proud to announce that our National Chairman, David Sohelo Mategwa, has been elected as the Vice Chairman of the African Confederation of Cooperative Savings and Credit Associations,” the Sacco stated.
This prestigious appointment is in addition to his current role as Vice Chairman of the ACCOSCA Foundation, further enhancing his leadership portfolio on the continent.
The Sacco noted that Mategwa’s elevation will benefit not only the Kenya National Police DT Sacco but also others.
“His continued leadership at the continental level not only reflects his dedication but also elevates the profile of our SACCO across Kenya and throughout Africa,” the statement read.
Mategwa holds the titles of OGW, HSC, DSA, and ICUDE. His dual leadership roles within ACCOSCA and its foundation position him as a key influence in shaping the future of financial cooperatives on the continent.
