Lessons from Speaker Nancy Pelosi women in leadership ought to emulate

United States House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has been the
determining factor over Trump Impeachment trial, which saw representatives pass
two articles that him on Wednesday.

But that is not the reason Pelosi stands out, showing other
women around the world how to rule with relevance, grace and ferocity, taking
zero crap in doing it –as columnist Petura Dvorak puts it in the Washington
Post.

News 9 Kenya highlights key characters from the House speaker
that can prove worth learning for women around the world and generally those in
leadership.

Chutzpah

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi proves her boldness in
decision making since she was elected to lead the House of Representatives.

On the D-day of impeachment, Pelosi stole the show,
historically for the first time in America, leading the much heated debate with
remarkable authority.

Dvorak writes, at 79, a mother of five and grandmother of
nine, the first female House speaker took charge and never took the bait.

Audacity

Speaker Pelosi courageously make decisions on issues that
are pertinent to America constitution and its people.

During Syria discussions, she stood up to make her point as
the only woman at a table full of men, a move that prompted President Trump to call
her “unhinged.” But that did not deter her from moving on, daring even those
who threaten her.

Dvorak adds, “Pelosi hasn’t let any of it slow her down or
back her down. She purses her lips and mercy claps at them, refusing to engage
in the profane, ugly language that swirls around her.”

Brass

Her impudence is defining. She shapes the next course of
action and controls it.

Dvorak continues in his article that, when younger folks in
her party started sniping at each other and at her this summer — namely the
four liberal freshman women known as “the Squad” — Pelosi shut them down.

“You got a complaint? You come and talk to me about it. But
do not tweet about our members and expect us to think that that is just okay,”
Pelosi told Democrats.

Ferocity

The speaker is fierce and does not entertain issues that go
against her principles.

The Columnist wrote, when a reporter from a conservative
outlet asked her two weeks ago whether she hates Trump, she stopped, pointed
her finger at him and said, “Don’t mess with me when it comes to words like
that.”

Today (Friday) she responded to President Trump action to
attack Representative Debbie Dingell and her late husband John Dingell, telling
him to review his remarks that cannot make him witty.

“Cruelty is not wit. Just because he gets a laugh for
saying cruel things … doesn’t mean he’s funny. It’s not funny at all. It’s
very sad,” said Pelosi.

Self-assurance

Despite her aging beauty, she defies the odds and sits
across the table with men in making decisions that Shapes America.

Pelosi, who flicks away criticism and taunting like a Jedi
walking through a hail of stormtrooper blasts, and those of us in the haze of
exhausted motherhood watch her in awe, a near-octogenarian in sharp suits and
narrow heels every darn day. She puts those sunglasses on like a boss in her
paprika coat, right after sparring with some of the only men ranked higher than
her, writes Dvorak.
