R Kelly was arrested on Thursday night in Chicago over sex trafficking in New York and attempts to influence an ongoing case in Atlanta.
The NYPD and Homeland security officers put cuffs on him as he was walking his dog.
According to CNN, his arrest comes after a 13-count indictment in the Northern District of Illinois that includes child pornography and obstruction of justice charges as said by Joseph Fitzpatrick, assistant US attorney for the Northern District of Illinois.
In February, R Kelly was charged with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse involving four alleged victims three of which the prosecutor said were underage . He pleaded not guilty and was released on a $1 million bond.
In May a grand jury indicted him on 11 more sexual offences relating to one of the four accusers. The offences included sexual assault and abuse of a minor aged between 13 and 16, which he pleaded not guilty in June.
He was also arrested in March for failing to pay his ex-wide child support worth $ 161,000.
