Many people love to be home with their parents, siblings, and extended family for Christmas. It is a wonderful time to get together and create memorable memories while feasting on various foods.
Well, people have different personalities, and get-togethers are a perfect opportunity for them to be on display. Here are some characters you might notice during the Christmas holidays with friends and family.
- The drunk
Drinking alcohol is part of the holiday festivities, and sometimes there is that one person in the family who goes overboard or cannot hold their liquor. The next thing you know they are shouting all over the place, leaking secrets that were shared in confidence, and insulting some.
Whatever they are saying is something they may not utter when sober. These characters light up the get-togethers in a good and bad way, and it can be fun to watch sometimes.
- The money person
In many families, there is that one person everyone looks to when it comes to finances. This individual can be taken advantage of if they don’t know how to set boundaries.
Nevertheless, they are also respected by family members because they have money. Get-togethers are a chance for the money person to reign and help out too if they like.
3. The caterer/cook
Christmas and food go together. You want to enjoy delicious food with your family and friends. Every family has that one person who cooks the most amazing food so the kitchen is their territory.
You do not want any other person in charge of the menu except for small aspects like cutting, chopping, or slicing ingredients.
- The lazy body
We all know that one person who does not help out during the holiday festivities. All they do is sit on the couch, scroll through their phone or whatever, and ask if food is ready. They can be annoying sometimes but they make families complete because we cannot all have the same character.
And, don’t even mention the menace that is last borns. They are fantastic people, but let’s be honest, some take advantage of being the babies of the family.
- The know-it-all with a loose mouth
There is always that one person in a family who knows everything about everyone. You do not want to be on the wrong side of this individual as some can spill the beans about your life if you rub them the wrong way.
One way to tame them is to get leverage on them; something they wouldn’t want anyone to know.
- The quiet one
Well, well, well. Then there is the quiet fella. They mind their own business, are low-key, and simply enjoy the holidays. They don’t get drunk and unruly, they may not know much about other people’s secrets, and help out here and there.
The beauty of family is having people with different characters and personalities. It would be boring if we were all alike. Besides, every character has upsides.
