NAIROBI, Kenya – The Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed that there are no new cases of Ebola virus reported in the two weeks since October 19, 2026.

Health Cabinet Secretary (CS) Aden Duale said Kenya continues to strengthen its Ebola surveillance, emergency preparedness and response measures.
CS Duale said this on Tuesday, November 3, during a high-level strategic engagement with the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) delegation led by Country Representative Shaheen Nofer and Associate Director for Public Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Dr Douglas Noble.
The delegation reviewed the country’s response to the Ebola (Bundibugyo) outbreak and strengthened collaboration in safeguarding public health.
Duale noted 46 contacts linked to the first Ebola case in the country have completed their mandatory 21-day monitoring and are ready for release.
“All nine confirmed cases are linked to a single chain of transmission, while 46 contacts have completed the mandatory 21-day monitoring period and are scheduled for release, with 52 remaining under observation,” said Duale.
The CS highlighted strengthened surveillance across 26 designated points of entry, training of more than 4,900 healthcare workers, establishment of 349 rapid response teams and designation of five laboratories for Ebola testing.
The UNICEF delegation commended Kenya’s coordinated response, delivering more than 43,000 items of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), with additional PPE and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) supplies.
The total supply contribution amounted to $716,625.26, alongside the deployment of 25 public health personnel.
“We engaged the UNICEF team on sustained investment in community health systems, infection prevention and control, and essential response supplies,” the CS added.
CS Duale called for continued partner support, clear implementation timelines and regular joint progress reviews to sustain the gains achieved while ensuring uninterrupted access to essential health services.
The announcement came as Kenya faces a travel ban following the disease outbreak in October 2026.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Madagascar implemented an urgent entry restriction for travellers from Nairobi.
