NAIROBI, Kenya – Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has sparked debate online after visiting Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party leader Oburu Odinga.

Sakaja visited Senator Oburu moments after ditching President William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Party to join ODM.
The Nairobi County boss took the bold step on Monday, November 2, saying he was fulfilling the late Raila Odinga’s legacy.
“If Baba were here today, and he is the one who told me to join ODM, he said that Nairobi should remain bold and we will do everything to ensure that is present in ODM,” said Sakaja, as quoted by Citizen Digital.
Sakaja’s visit to Oburu ignites debate
Siaya Senator Dr Oburu welcomed Sakaja, describing his move as a significant step forward in the ODM race ahead of the 2027 General Elections.
“It was a great pleasure hosting Governor Johnson Sakaja at my home this evening. I was truly delighted to officially welcome him into the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) family.
“As our party continues to grow and strengthen its roots, his joining marks a significant and welcome step forward for all our new members. Karibu sana to ODM,” said Oburu.
However, a majority of Kenyans shared different opinions following the visit, with some arguing that the governor has made a wrong move in his political career.

Oburu is the only person it’s hard to attack. Sakaja should be human enough to allow the old man recover.
