Orange Democratic Movement Party (ODM) lawmaker Caleb Amisi has fiercely responded to plans by a section of party members to oust leaders opposing President William Ruto’s administration.
Speaking during the commissioning of the new Bondeni sub-chief’s office in Tuwan Ward, and issuance of bursary cheques, Amisi said that the plans to remove him, Senators Edwin Sifuna and Godfrey Osotsi is being orchestrated by the ruling party.

He further called out National Assembly Minority Leader and Suna East MP Junet Mohammed for auctioning the party to Ruto, which has seen some leaders publicly criticising EALA MP and Odinga’s daughter Winnie Odinga.
“I have delivered the MP seat for ODM twice. Why wait until Baba is dead to remove us from the party?” Amisi questioned. ” Junet anafanya mnada na champ. He wants to sell the party to William Ruto. They now want me out for not praising the President. Was I elected to honour or serve the people?” He further questioned.
With the rift in the second largest party in the country continuing to widen, Amisi reiterated his earlier sentiments questioning the leadership of Siaya Senator Oburu Oginga as the party leader.
Amisi refuted Oginga’s leadership, questioning the procedures for him to steer the party.
Amisi hints at the formation of a party
“Kijana Power”, popularly known among his constituents, further disclosed the plans to form a party if the frustrations continue to retain his seat for the third term in the forthcoming 2027 general elections.
Amisi bashing claims of the government’s plans to install their candidate, to displace the slum dwellers in Mitume and Tuwan to build affordable houses; plans that he adamantly rejected and moved to Maili Tatu.
He further went on stating that he will not allow Saboti, which is cosmopolitan, to be divided by tribal politics.
“If they continue, we will form our own party. They are planting their own candidate, a Sabaot with an ODM ticket. I will not allow them to divide the people of Saboti. We host all communities from Kenya. With or without ODM, I will be here to square with the out,” Amisi boldly stated.
The vocal lawmaker has been closely associated with the political wing Kenya Moja, which comprises of Edwin Sifuna, MPs Babu Owino and Gathoni Wamuchomba, who have been publicly calling out the failures of the Kenya Kwanza administration.
