The government has laid down plans to deploy surveillance
teams across slums and market places as coronavirus cases rise to 384.

Health Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) Dr. Mercy
Mwangagi said on Wednesday that the ministry has identified possible areas of
the virus transmission, and will be moving around sensitizing the public in
such areas.

“There are plans we are laying down to ensure that we are
able to study a given population and the rate of infection,” said Dr.
Mwangangi.

The CAS added that Kawangware is one of the areas on watch
by the ministry, even as it recorded one more Covid-19 case.

“Kawangware is an area under surveillance. We have
identified markets as one of the areas of transmission. We will deploy
surveillance team to different zones so to interact with public, ensure social
distancing, show people correct ways of putting on masks,” she said.

The country recorded 10 new coronavirus cases in the last
24-hours, bringing the total number of the infection to 384.

The number of recoveries have increased to 129, after 5 more
people were discharged.

Dr. Mwangangi said the ministry maintains a close
relationship with recovered patients, to ensure that they are not met with
social stigmatization.

“We are partnering with recovered patients; we have a total
of 129 so far,” said Dr. Mwangangi.
