Kenya football legend Joe Kadenge has passed on at the age of
84years.

His son Oscar Kadenge has confirmed Kadenge died on Sunday, July 7 after being ill for a long while.

The football star associated with the popular phrase ‘Kadenge
na mpira’ suffered a stroke in February and has been in and out of hospital.

According to Game Yetu,
he played for Maragoli United scoring the fastest goal ever in the Kenya
Premier League. That was not all. He played for Abaluhya United (now AFC Leopard) to win the Kenya
Premier League in 1966.

In 1970, Kadenge quit playing football and ventured into
coaching and appointed the national team’s head coach later in 2002.
