Nairobi, Kenya – The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has extended the deadline for the upload of Grade 4 and 5 School-Based Assessment (SBA) scores for two weeks.

In a public notice published on June 4, 2026, KNEC said it has pushed the deadline to upload the scores into the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBA) portal to June 18, 2026.
“The deadline for the upload of Grades 4 and 5 SBA scores onto the CBA portal has been extended for two weeks until Thursday, 18th June 2026,” read the notice seen by news.africa in part.
The council urged all heads of institutions to utilise the open opportunity to complete all pending uploads and address any gaps before the portal is closed.
It, however, warned of penalties for non-compliance after the extended deadline.
SBA is an assessment which is embedded in the teaching and learning process from lower grades to the upper grades, forming the core component of the CBA curriculum.
The scores are earned from utilising projects, orals, and practical tasks, and other assessments between the teacher and learners.
