Nakuru, Kenya – Fresh details have emerged showing that Nakuru slain doctor Laban Kiptoo’s murder scene CCTV footage was tampered with.

This came as the family of Laban Kiptoo, a doctor who was murdered in Nakuru and his body discovered in the hospital’s premises, was still calling for justice as the question of who and why is yet be arrived at by the detectives who launched a serious investigation to get the perpetrator(s) of the unspeakable incident.

What CCTV footage showed about Laban Kiptoo’s last moments

The ongoing investigation unmasked the departed Kiptoo’s last moves with the recent showing of the deceased walking to an entertainment joint in London, along the Nakuru- Kabarnet road.

In the captured CCTV footage, Kiptoo is seen getting into a club with a person at 11:00 pm, putting on a black-white striped shirt, black trousers, black jacket and spectacles. The duo are seen joining other pleasure seekers in a table.

From the footage, he is then seen showing his friend his phone while drunk before proceeding with the scroll.

Some moments later he then makes an effort to farewell to other men before they pull him back and he is seen whispering to one of them but he then leaves alone.

“He was on his phone throughout. He left two of his drinking friends at the club, and they followed him but the two came back and continued having their drinks and left after that,” the joint attendant narrated, as quoted by Nation.

One of the revellers in the club highlighted that the deceased got onto the motorcycle and asked to be taken to the hospital.

CCTV footage interfered with

James Waweru, the medical administrator, highlighted that CCTV cameras were functional in the health facility on the eve of the Medical practitioner’s murder.

He added unluckily the unknown individuals interfered with the memory card, something which has now mounted a hard task on the detectives on how to retrieve the CCTV footage.

“Our CCTV cameras were active that Friday night but unknown individuals tampered with the memory card. We do not know how and why. We are yet to establish that. We are in the process of repairing all the CCTV cameras in the facility,” James Waweru said.

Following the outrageous story, Nakuru Governor, Susan Kihika, on Wednesday, January18, vowed that the family eventually will get justice, as the county government of Nakuru is now engaged with the detectives in the mission to get the killer(s)

“We are trying to get to the bottom of what happened. Our priority is justice for our doctor. We are working closely with the detective officers to ensure that no stone is left unturned,” Susan stated.

The Governor also pointed out that they will explore every route so that such reprehensible incidents don’t happen again.

Nakuru doctor’s call for justice

Meanwhile, News 9 Kenya reported that services at the Nakuru Level Five Hospital were paralysed for the better part of the day on Monday, January 15.

This followed a peaceful demonstration organised by colleagues of departed Dr Laban Kiptoo whose lifeless body was discovered on the premises on Saturday, January 13.

The demonstrators demanded a speedy investigation from detectives to apprehend the killer(s).
