At just 24, Jane Brown Bwire, the reigning Miss Tourism Busia County, has become a beacon of hope, resilience and transformation.
More than a beauty queen, Jane is a leader, an advocate and an entrepreneur whose influence stretches far beyond the runway.
Jane, a proud daughter of Busia County, grew up in a community where dreams were nurtured alongside hard work and determination. From a young age, she was known for her grace, intelligence and a heart that cared deeply for others. Her journey from local recognition to the national stage is truly inspiring.
Her first taste of the spotlight came in 2021, when she was crowned Miss Sang’alo Institute, marking the beginning of her pageantry journey.
In 2024, under the mentorship of Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba, she earned the prestigious title of Miss Talanta Express, further cementing her place in the world of pageantry.
Over the years, Jane has proudly held several distinguished titles, including:
- Miss Sang’alo Institute 2021
- Miss Gheto Marachi Busia 2021
- Miss Elegant Busia County 2023
- 1st Runners-Up Miss Valentines, Bungoma County 2024
- Miss Face of Busia 2024
- Miss Talanta Express 2024
- Miss Tourism Busia County 2024/2025
- 1st Runners-Up Miss Graced Talent International 2025
Each crown represents not only her elegance but also her dedication to inspiring and serving her community.

Now, in 2025, Jane steps onto her dream runway as she represents Busia County at Miss Tourism Kenya. For her, tourism is not just about places; it is about people, the communities, cultures and stories that make every destination unique.
Alongside her crown, Jane is pursuing a diploma in general agriculture at Bungoma National Polytechnic. She believes that sustainable farming practices and food security are the backbone of thriving rural communities. Her academic focus ties directly to her development goals, especially in supporting smallholder farmers and empowering women through agribusiness.
Her compassion shines brightest through her Naburi Care Initiative, Make a Child Smile, which has brought food, clothes, learning materials, mentorship and hope to countless children. The initiative embodies her personal motto: #MakeAChildSmile.
Jane’s advocacy has also made her a fearless Jigger Campaign Champion, helping eradicate the jigger menace in households across Western Kenya and marginalized regions.
“I can confidently tell you that my work in eradicating the jigger menace has helped restore dignity and self-worth to many souls,” she says.
Her community-driven work is sustained by her entrepreneurial spirit. Fondly known as Mama Chipo, she runs a local food business that sustains her education, supports her initiatives and creates jobs for others.
Still, Jane knows that her potential is greater than her current resources. She is actively seeking partnerships and sponsorships to expand her reach. Her vision includes establishing permanent Naburi Care mentorship centers, running mobile health clinics, launching school-based agricultural clubs and growing her food business to employ more women and youth.
“All I am saying is that I am not asking for handouts but rather, I am seeking to join hands with visionary partners who believe in the power of grassroots change and the strength of young African women leading that change,” she explains.
Jane Brown Bwire is not just a beauty queen; she is a changemaker. Her story is a celebration of resilience, community and the power of giving back. For Busia and beyond, Jane is not only wearing a crown, she is carrying a purpose.
