MOMBASA, Kenya – Nyali parliamentary aspirant Said Abdalla, popularly known as Saido, has intensified his empowerment programme for small-scale traders alongside a voter registration drive ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Saido, who led hundreds of supporters in a door-to-door campaign in Kongowea Ward, distributed umbrellas and issued several cheques to boost traders’ businesses.
Speaking on Sunday, October 18, he said the intervention was aimed at cushioning traders from the surge in fuel prices occasioned by upheaval in the Middle East.
“We are empowering traders with real financial support and ensuring every voice in Kongowea is heard at the polls.
“We cannot build Nyali when our mothers in the market are struggling under high costs. This is about dignity in business,” Saido said
The aspirant also rallied residents to register as voters, urging them to vote wisely.
“Vote wisely and reject conmen who only resurface during the electioneering period,” he said. “Nyali needs leaders who stay with the people, not those who are hell-bent on creating tribal, class and religious divisions,” he said.
Saido pledged to continue his grassroots empowerment model across all five wards of Nyali Constituency.
Saido backs Ruto’s govt
Earlier, the aspirant backed the government’s plan to resettle thousands of squatters in Mombasa following President William Ruto’s issuance of title deeds at the Coast.
Saido lauded Ruto’s development tour of the Coast, saying the region is reaping benefits owing to the broad-based government arrangement.
On the President’s directive to absentee landlords, Abdalla said the order must be honoured, and those holding huge chunks of land should stop frustrating squatters.
