Motorists in Kenya will pay up to KSh 16 more on petrol prices after the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) raised pump prices.

EPRA revised the pump prices for the period between May 15 and June 14, 2026.
In a press statement seen by News Nine, the regulator increased super petrol prices by KSh 16.65 per litre, diesel by KSh 46.29 per litre.
This will see super petrol prices in Nairobi increase from KSh 197.6 to KSh 214.23 and diesel from KSh 196.63 to KSh 242.92, per litre.
The price of kerosene will remain unchanged for the period under review.
“In the period under review, the maximum allowed petroleum pump prices for Super Petrol and Diesel increased by KSh 16.65 per litre and KSh 46.29 per litre, respectively, while the price of Kerosene remained unchanged,” read the statement in part.
EPRA hiked fuel prices despite the government’s move to cut Value Added Tax to 8% in April 2026, from 16%.
The regulator noted that the government will continue to cushion the consumers through the Petroleum Development Levy (PDL) Fund by utilising approximately KSh 5 billion to subsidise the prices of Diesel and Kerosene.
