The event held on 29th May 2026 at the Radisson Blu Hotel celebrated excellence, innovation, and growth within Africa’s travel industry.

The gala dinner marked a significant milestone, celebrating Triply’s five-year journey as well as its innovative TravelTech Platform, which is designed to empower travel agents, tour operators, and travel businesses with modern operational, payment, and business management solutions.

The Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony was established to recognize and celebrate travel businesses that have demonstrated outstanding performance, engagement, innovation, and commitment to digital transformation through the Triply platform.

Through a range of Performance Awards, Engagement Awards, and Special Recognition Awards, Triply honoured businesses that continue to drive industry growth while embracing technology to improve efficiency, customer experience, and business sustainability.

The event also reinforced Triply’s commitment to building a stronger and more connected travel ecosystem by fostering collaboration among travel businesses, industry associations, financial institutions, and strategic partners.

It provided a platform for industry leaders to engage in meaningful conversations about the future of travel, digital transformation, financial inclusion, and sustainable growth across Africa’s tourism sector. The ceremony was graced by distinguished leaders from the tourism and travel industry, including Kenya Tourism Board CEO June Chepkemei, who served as Guest of Honour.

Other notable attendees included Ms Rose Kiseli, General Manager (East, Central and South) at Kenya Airways; Ambassador Sally Njoki, Secretary General of the African Tourism Board (ATB); Madam Winnie Maru, CEO of the Kenya Association of Women in Tourism (KAWT);

Mr Fred Kaigua, CEO of the Kenya Association of Tour Operators (KATO); Mr Daniel Mbugua, Chairman of the Tour Operators Society of Kenya (TOSK); Mr Nicanor Sabula, CEO of the Kenya Association of Travel Agents (KATA); and Dr Joseph Kithitu, Chairman of KATA.

Speaking during the event, Peter Wachira, CEO and Co-Founder of Triply, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting travel businesses across Africa.

“The trust our customers place in Triply is something we never take for granted. At Triply, we believe travel businesses deserve better; better tools, better payment infrastructure, and better opportunities to grow.

“Everything we have built has been shaped by the trust, feedback, and partnership of our customers and stakeholders. While we continue to learn and improve, our commitment remains unwavering: to empower travel businesses across Africa with the financial and operational infrastructure they need to operate confidently, scale sustainably, and create meaningful economic impact in the communities they serve,” said Wachira.

As Triply marks five years of innovation and growth, the Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony reflects the company’s broader vision of accelerating the digital transformation of the travel industry and building the infrastructure that will enable travel businesses across Africa to thrive in an increasingly connected and technology-driven economy.

The awards come at a time when Africa’s travel industry is increasingly embracing digital transformation to improve efficiency, expand market access, and enhance customer experiences.

Through its TravelTech Platform, Triply aims to bridge longstanding operational and financial gaps within the sector, enabling travel businesses to compete more effectively in both regional and global markets.
