Nairobi, Kenya – Travel businesses in Kenya have received a financial service boost following a partnership between Triply and Choice Microfinance Bank.

The partnership signed on Monday, May 25, will give travel businesses access to expanded banking services, financial products, and payment infrastructure nationwide.

Tryply, a travel technology and financial infrastructure company, will give travel businesses access to banking services and products that support customer collections, payment visibility, reconciliation, supplier payments, and future financial services tailored to the travel sector.

According to Tryply Co-founder and CEO Peter Wachira, travel businesses are an important part of the economy, enabling tourism, business travel, cross-border commerce, employment, and local enterprise growth.

However, many travel businesses have remained marginalised by traditional financial service providers, despite their ability to handle high-value customer payments, supplier settlements, instalment collections, foreign exchange needs, and international transactions.

“Travel businesses have been overlooked for too long by traditional financial institutions, despite managing complex, high-value, and time-sensitive financial flows every day.

“Our partnership with Choice Microfinance Bank strengthens our commitment to giving these businesses the infrastructure, banking access, and financial tools they need to operate with confidence, serve customers professionally, and compete globally,” said Wachira,

Wachira noted that the partnership is a key step toward building a stronger financial ecosystem for the travel industry, where agencies can access relevant banking products, manage payments more efficiently, and grow on top of reliable financial rails.

He added that the collaboration will support a more professional and transparent payment experience for travellers.

Triply builds the operating system for travel businesses in emerging markets. The platform helps travel businesses manage enquiries, quotations, bookings, customer collections, instalment payments, supplier payouts, FX, reconciliation, and business performance from one place.

Choice Microfinance Bank, a licensed banking and financial services provider, will support expanded access to banking services and financial products for travel businesses.
