France is yet to approve a 3 billion projects deal with Kenya, President Emanuel Macron has said.
Speaking on Wednesday at Nairobi State House, shortly after arriving in the country, Macron anounced that projects worth 3 billion Euros between Kenya and France would be approved.
Macron was responding to President Uhuru Kenyatta’s call urging him to pressurize a French firm contracted to the construction of commuter rail between JKIA and CBD.

He promised that by “the end of 2021 this new connection will be possible,”
President Macron also added that he believes in President Kenyatta’s vision for a fully integrated Eastern Africa.
If completed, the line would serve 500,000 commuters daily in the next one year.
“Our target is to have 500,000 urban commuters moving freely daily within the next 12 months. This number will grow to over a million commuters daily within the next five years,” said President Kenyatta.
Also present was visiting President Felix Tshisekedi of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
